Created with a mix of mediums, the canvas for this piece is delicately ruffle-edged, hand-made paper.  Barn swallows have always felt like happy birds to me.  Diving and swooping and graceful yet playful.  This piece is layered paper, the background delicately painted with red flowers, with the swallow taking center stage on a second layer (the pink oval).  So much color and texture!
